October’s astrology arrives with fire in the belly and truth on the tip of your tongue. After September’s eclipse shake-up, this month invites us to pause, reflect, and realign – beginning with a waxing moon that nudges us inward and culminating in a powerful Full Moon in Aries. We’re asked to let go with courage, speak from the soul, and call in harmony where we’ve been holding tension. With Venus returning to her home sign of Libra and Mercury moving through three signs this month – including a truth-seeking shift into Sagittarius – there’s plenty of cosmic fuel for personal growth, emotional healing, and soulful transformation. Whether you’re feeling the urge to deepen your spiritual practice, reset your relationships, or reconnect with your purpose, these Yogascopes will help you navigate October’s lessons with clarity, grace and grounded intention.
Significant Dates:
1st Oct
October starts with a waxing gibbous moon, this is when the moon is ripening into fullness. It’s a time to reflect and go inwards. Practice yoga styles that help you to find stillness and presence.
If we take time at the start of the month to pause – when the Full Moon in Aries arrives on 7th Oct – we will know intuitively, what is ready to be released.
6th Oct
Mercury (the planet of communication) enters Scorpio. When Mercury is in Scorpio we can expect conversations to be deep. Mercury will be making a link to Pluto (the planet of transformation) which may force us to have uncomfortable conversations about taboo subjects in order to resolve conflicts and evolve. It’s a good time to work with the link between the sacral chakra and the throat chakra. We can do this by practicing Malasana (yogi squat) and chanting the mantra for the throat chakra HAM.
7th Oct
Full Moon in Aries. Full Moon is always a time to gather in community or to make time for a ritual. This is when we are invited to release what no longer serves us in order to realign with our highest path. As our previous Full Moon in Pisces was eclipsed, it’s even more important to harness the energy of this Full Moon. Connecting to the Full Moon offers us a moment to pause and re-evaluate. Eclipses will often take something out of our path in order to realign us – so this Full Moon is a really powerful moment to check in with yourself and notice where you have landed and how the landscape has changed since the Lunar Eclipse in Pisces (7th Sept).
As Aries is associated with the element of Fire, this Full Moon is a good time for any rituals which harness the element of fire: light a red candle to venerate Mars (the planet that rules this Full Moon), practice Trāṭaka (meditating on a candle flame) and of course, write down everything you want to let go of and then burn the piece of paper (as always, be careful when working with fire).
On the yoga mat, work with Manipura Chakra (the solar plexus) – this is the energy point in the body that connects us to the element of fire and taps us into our power, courage and self-belief. You can work with Manipura by wearing the colour yellow, chanting the mantra RAM, practice fiery dynamic practice that include plenty of twists e.g. Parivrtta Parsvakonasana (revolved side angle) and Parivrtta Ardha Chandrasana (revolved half-moon).
13th Oct
Venus Enters Libra. Venus (the planet of beauty and love) enters its home sign Libra. This is a time to connect to beauty and to tend to our interpersonal relationships.
14th Oct
Pluto moves into direct motion. Pluto (the planet of deep excavations, psychological explorations and facing our shadows) is in the sign of Aquarius (collective, community, group dynamics). Pluto has been retrograde since 4th May giving us time to go inwards and reflect on the negative aspect of group dynamics. Now as Pluto moves into direct motion, it’s a time to take action with regards to creating loving and supportive communities – as there is a harmonious flow of energy between Pluto, Venus (beauty and love) and Uranus (the great awakener).
This is a great day to gather in Satsang (definition from Yogapedia Satsang may…refer to a group of people engaged in a spiritual dialogue… the term is generally used to highlight the importance of community on spiritual growth).
20th Oct
Mercury (communication) links with Mars (drive and ambition) in Scorpio. This could be an intense day when tempers are frayed. Move through it and transmute the energy by working with the Mooladara (Root Chakra), Manipura (Solar Plexus) and Vishuddhi (Throat Chakra). Forward folds, twists and Lion’s Breath (inhale through the nose, exhale through the mouth, stick out the tongue) will help.
Oct 21st
New Moon in Libra. The symbol for Libra is the scales and New Moon in Libra is always a time to harmonise and find balance. Libra is ruled by Venus (the planet of beauty and love) and this is a great moon for manifesting love or for improving and rebalancing your relationships. As always, write down everything you want to bring in.
As Libra is an Air sign, it can be beneficial to work with the element of Air – a simple ritual is to visualise breathing in whatever you want to bring into your life this New Moon and to visualise exhaling whatever you want to release.
In your yoga Practice work with the Heart Chakra – wear the colour green and chant the mantra “YAM”. Balancing poses such as Natrjasana (dancer’s pose) and Ardha Chandrasana can help harness Libra energy.
Oct 22nd
Neptune (the planet of imagination) returns to Pisces. Meditate, visualise, keep a dream diary. Neptune will be in Pisces until 26th Jan 2026.
Oct 23rd
Sun enters Scorpio. Happy birthday to the Scorpios! When the Sun enters Scorpio we enter a deep reflective state. The perfect time of year for Yin, Gong and Slow Flow.
Oct 29th
Mercury enters Sagittarius. Sagittarius is the truth seeker so when Mercury (planet of communication) is in the sign of Sagittarius, we may find it easier to speak our truth.

Libra
Your birthday season brings you a powerful opportunity to release codependent dynamics and to reclaim your personal power when you harness the energy of The Full Moon in your opposite sign of Aries (7th Oct).
You move through the second half of October endowed with the grace of your ruling planet – Venus. This is a time to enjoy the things that lift your heart such as music, art, fashion and nature. Buy yourself flowers and indulge in daily practices that bring beauty into your life. It’s the ideal time to sign up to a creative course or visit a gallery.
Libra season comes to a close with the New Moon in Libra (21st Oct) and on this day the cosmos conspires to bless you with whatever your heart desires – the only catch is, you will have to work for it and you will have to be ready to change.
Spiritual Practices to Support You
Around the time of the Full Moon in Aries it may be helpful to chant the mantra for Manipura Chakra (Solar Plexus) – “RAM” and then practice Parivrtta Prasarita Padottanasana (wide legged forward fold with a twist). This will help to instill confidence and self-belief and to shed any blocks.
As we move towards your personal New Moon, work with balancing poses and Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing) in order to maintain equilibrium.
The yogic practice of Santosha invites us to find joy and contentment in the present moment. The New Moon can be a great time to begin a gratitude practice if you don’t already have one. Appreciate what you already have in order to call in more of what you want.
As it’s your own personal New Moon, it’s a great time to get really intentional. As Libra is the sign of interpersonal relationships it can be helpful to discuss your plans and aspirations with a trusted friend or partner.
Ritual: Imagine it’s five years from now, write a letter to a trusted friend or a partner in the present tense. It’s the best possible version of your future. What are you doing? Who are you with? Where do you live?
Scorpio
In Traditional Astrology, Mars (the planet of drive and ambition), is the ruler of Scorpio. Throughout October Mars is in the sign of Scorpio equipping you with vigour, dynamism and the will to succeed. When Mercury (the planet of communication) joins Mars in Scorpio on 6th Oct there’s an opportunity to have some deep and healing conversations but your propensity to dig deep may trigger more sensitive souls – endeavour to tread lightly.
On 7th Oct we have a Full Moon in Aries – Aries is also ruled by Mars. This means that you may find yourself going into battle for causes you believe in. The Full Moon may also reveal to you which battles are no longer worth fighting.
The New Moon in Venus-ruled Libra may provide a relaxing interlude to Mars’s combative energy and will invite you to set intentions from a heart centred place.
Spiritual Practices to Support You
As the link between Mars and Mercury may make you even more intense and frank than usual, it can be helpful to work with the link between Manipura (Solar Plexus), Anahata (Heart Chakra) and Vishuddha (Throat Chakra). Working with this flow of energy will empower you to say what you need to say but to say it with kindness.
Matsayana (fish pose) combined with Lion’s Breath can be a great way to clear the channel and equip you to have those important conversations. Around the time of the New Moon, try a practice focused on the element of Air to connect to that harmonious Libra energy.
Ritual: Write a letter to someone you are in conflict with explaining how you feel and how you would like them to change and improve. It doesn’t have to be a person you know, it could be a political figure. This is not a letter that should be sent, it’s simply an exercise in expressing your feelings.
After you’ve written it you can tear it up and burn it (safely) or flush it down the toilet. Visualise the conflict being resolved.
Sagittarius
The Full Moon in fellow Fire sign Aries on 7th Oct will reignite your drive to create and will nudge you to complete any outstanding creative projects. It’s a time to decide what deserves your continued attention and energy and what needs to be put to one side.
The New Moon in Libra invites you to call in community and to find like minded souls who will help to nurture your dreams.
On the 29th Mercury (the planet of communication) enters your sign, giving you opportunities to have important conversations and supporting you in stepping into your truth and living your life authentically.
Spiritual Practices to Support You
The Full Moon in Aries re-energises your creative life so it’s a great time to work with the Svadhisthana (the sacral chakra) and Manipura (the solar plexus). Try Anjaneyasana (low lunge) and if it feels good in your body find Kali Mudra (interlace the hands index fingers out) with arms raised above your head – chant the mantra “VAM” for the sacral chakra and “RAM” for the solar plexus. This will help to break through obstacles in your creative path.
For the New Moon in Libra, find a heart-centred practice and at the end of the month, to welcome Mercury into your sign, begin working with the throat chakra by practicing Bhramari (bee/humming breath).
Keep this practice going for the duration of Mercury in Sagittarius (29th Oct to 18th Nov) – it will serve as good prep for the Mercury retrograde that begins in your sign on 9th Nov when communication may begin to feel more challenging.
Ritual: Around the time of the New Moon, practice yoga in a group setting. Write what kind of a community you would like to call in on a piece of paper. Fold the paper up and place it under your mat, to put a positive energetic imprint from your practice into your intentions. Keep the paper until Full Moon in Sagittarius (31st May 2026) and hopefully, you will discover that you have manifested that beautiful community.
Capricorn
With your ruler Saturn (planet of structure and boundaries) back in the same sign as the North Node (Soul Purpose) you may find yourself reflecting on your Dharma (from Yogapedia: On an individual level, dharma can refer to a personal mission or purpose.) There is an impetus at the moment to seek a spiritual framework in your life and it’s a great time to meditate and connect to self.
On the Full Moon (7th Oct) it can be beneficial to declutter your home and throw out anything that is weighing you down, whilst the New Moon (21st Oct) is a good time to set intentions for your work life.
Jupiter (the planet of luck and expansion) continues to move through your opposite sign of Cancer putting an emphasis on prioritising self-care even if it seems challenging to find the time.
Spiritual Practices to Support You
October invites you to recommit to a meditation practice. Building structure around your spiritual practices will be extremely fruitful at this time and may provide more clarity on the path ahead.
The Full Moon in Aries (7th Oct) is a great time to do slow, grounding and mindful practices, whilst the New Moon is a time when your one-to-one relationships can help you to evolve on a work level, so it could be interesting to practice some kind of partner-based yoga.
Ritual: In the days before the Full Moon find a stone. Every time you think of something you want to release from your life, blow into the stone and imagine letting go of it. After the Full Moon, throw the rock into a moving body of water.
Aquarius
We start the month with The Sun in fellow Air sign Libra imbuing you with optimism and energy and when Venus (planet of beauty and love) also enters Libra on the 13th it should add a sense of buoyancy and contentment to your daily life.
The Full Moon in Aries (7th Oct) might bring a self-inquiry and perhaps a decision to change up your social media strategy (if you have one).
The New Moon (21st Oct) invites you to look at your one-to-one relationships in order to advance your education – perhaps you learn something from someone else or vice-versa.
Towards the end of the month, the Sun will enter Scorpio creating a challenging aspect with Pluto (the planet of transformation) which is currently in your sign. This can be a moment for deep introspection and important revelations.
Spiritual Practices to Support You
Connect to the element of Air by practicing Heart Opening poses such as Ustrasana (camel) and Salamba Bhujangasana (Sphinx). This will help to amplify the benefits of Sun and Venus in Libra. When the Sun enters Scorpio (23rd Oct) it’s a time to go inwards so opt for slow meditative flows and long Yoga Nidra meditations.
Ritual – Around the time of New Moon, attend a sound bath (if you can’t go in person, find a recording on line). Write down what you want to bring in on a piece of paper and place the paper under your mat. Take a feather with you and place it with your intentions – this help to call in the element of Air and add potency and vibrational power to your intentions.
Pisces
Last month you had a Lunar Eclipse in your sign and it may have felt like an emotional purge or the completion of an important cycle. This month is all about re-centring and recalibrating. Use the Full Moon in Aries (7th Oct) to release anything that is weighing you down or holding you back. If you’ve strayed off the path, it’s a good day to come back to what you love – this is because the South Node and Venus are making a connection in your opposite sign – Virgo.
The New Moon in Venus-ruled Libra (21st Oct) will ask you how you develop and evolve through your one-to-one relationships.
Neptune (the planet of imagination) re-enters Pisces on Oct 22nd adding dream-like quality to the rest of the month and asking you to delve into your subconscious.
Spiritual Practices to Support You
Around the time of the Full Moon in Aries chant Ganesh Mantra “Om Gam Ganpataya Namaha”. This mantra is to remove blocks and usher in new beginnings. As Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac and Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, the Full Moon in Aries can be a good point of release. On the New Moon practice twists such as Ardha Matsyendrasana (seated twist) and Parivrtta Trikonasana (Revolved Triangle Pose). Journaling and keeping a dream diary can be a great way to honour Neptune’s return to Pisces.
Ritual – Build a simple altar – you need a candle, a stone or crystal and a picture that speaks to you (can be a photograph). On the Full Moon, write the mantra “Om Gam Ganapataya Namaha” on a piece of paper and put it on your altar. On the New Moon, write down your intentions and add them to your altar. You can leave the paper there to energise or you can bury it in the ground when the ritual is done.
Aries
This is a special point for you, dear Aries, as we are half way through your solar year. The Full Moon in your own sign (7th Oct) is a moment to realign with your core beliefs and to let go of any blocks to stepping into the most authentic empowered version of yourself.
The New Moon in your opposite sign Libra (21st Oct) shifts the spotlight on to one-to-one relationships and invites you to set intentions around calling in relationships that nourish and sustain you and also asks you to harmonise your existing relationships.
Neptune (planet of imagination) has been in your sign since 30th March but on 22nd Oct it moves back into Pisces – this is significant as for most of 2025 you have had both Saturn (structure and boundaries) and Neptune in the early degrees of your sign. With them both temporarily moving out of Aries and into Pisces, it’s a good moment to pause and reflect on how things feel different.
Neptune will re-enter Aries on 26th Jan 2026 and Saturn will re-enter on 13th Feb 2026 so lean into their absence in order to prepare for and understand their sustained presence.
Spiritual Practices to Support You
The Full Moon in your own sign is a great time to work with Manipura (Solar Plexus), step into your full Aries power and don’t hold back. A yoga practice that is intense, energetic and challenging will serve you at this time. You can also try shaking the body for three minutes to release stuck energy. Wear the colour Yellow, chant the mantra “RAM”, practice Kali Mudra (interlace the hands and leave index finger out) this will invite in change and reclamation of your personal power, if you’re ready for it.
Ritual – In the UK The Full Moon in Aries is exact at on Tuesday 7th Oct 4:47am (BST) in Astrology Tuesday is Mars Day – the day when we venerate the planet Mars.
As Mars rules Aries and the Full Moon is in Aries – it is a potent day to work with Mars energy. Light a red candle to call in Mars energy – write down everything you want to let go of and then burn the piece of paper (as always exercise caution when working with fire). If you don’t feel comfortable burning the paper, tear it up and flush it.
Taurus
With both Mars (planet of drive and ambition) and Mercury (planet of communication) in your opposite sign of Scorpio – you are being invited to have deep conversations and you are being nudged to tackle certain challenges that you may have been avoiding.
The good news is that on 13th Oct Venus enters Libra – as Venus is your ruling planet and Venus also rules Libra, this means you have this loving supportive Venusian energy to help you to move gracefully through October. This is a wonderful time to be in nature and enjoy the colours and magic of the autumn season.
The Full Moon in Aries (7th Oct) puts the emphasis on taking care of your spiritual wellbeing and the New Moon in Libra (21st Oct) asks you to take stock of your daily habits and routines.
Spiritual Practices to Support You
They say that, “yoga is a journey through the self, to the self” so opt for practices the facilitate self-inquiry and activate deep and reflective states. Take long Shavasanas with a bolster under the knees and an eye mask, in order reach higher states of consciousness that will facilitate deeper self-knowledge, this will help you to navigate through Mars and Mercury in Scorpio. Around the time of the New Moon it’s a moment to set intentions around the daily routines and habits that keep you anchored and grounded.
Ritual – On the New Moon in Libra write your intentions down on a piece paper. Dig a hole in the ground and plant them in the earth.
If you have a window box, a garden or some outside space you can plant flowers along with your intentions (In October plant flowers such as tulips, daffodils and poppies).
Gemini
You are in a period of dynamic change and you may also be experiencing daily downloads and revelations. This is due to the interplay between Uranus (the great awakener) in your sign and Pluto (the planet of transformation) in fellow Air sign Aquarius.
This is not a time to attempt to control things, instead embrace the yogic concept of Ishavara Pranidaha (surrender to your higher self). Have a plan but also have faith in a greater cosmic plan and allow yourself to be divinely guided and redirected.
On the Full Moon in Aries (7th Oct) you might think about the communities you are currently a part of. Are they all still serving you or do you need to let something go in order to forge deeper connections? The New Moon in Libra (21st Oct) is a good time to embark on a creative project.
Spiritual Practices to Support You
Work with Muladhara (root chakra) in order to cultivate stable foundations that will help you to move through the frenetic energy created by the link between Uranus and Pluto. Try pose such as Virabhadrasana Two (Warrior 2) and Tadasana (mountain pose). It’s important to ground yourself – walk barefoot on the grass and spend time in nature.
In order to harness the power of the New Moon in Libra try a creative flow that incorporates lots of balancing poses. Gemini is connected with the element of Air. As the New Moon is also in Air sign it is a good time to tap into your element. Breathwork will support and sustain you throughout the month of October. Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing) can help to cultivate calm and equilibrium.
Ritual – Harness the element of Air. Around the time of the New Moon (21st Oct) and on a windy day, hold a feather in your hand, go outside to a calm and private space and speak your intentions into the wind. Use the feather to fan your intentions and trust that the wind will blow your intentions in the direction of those who can support you with your endeavours.
Cancer
As a sensitive Water sign you will be feeling the ingress of several significant planets into the Water signs – Mars (drive and ambition) and Mercury (communication) in Scorpio and Saturn (structure and boundaries) and Neptune (imagination) in Pisces.
You are a naturally introspective sign and this alignment of planets will amplify your need to go inwards and retreat from the world. Embrace this impetus to nest and rest and tune into the deep insights that you will be receiving on a daily basis.
The Full Moon in Aries (7th Oct) may spark a review of your work life. The New Moon in Libra (21st Oct) may inspire you to beautify your home.
Spiritual Practices to Support You
Lean into the fact that you will be feeling emotional and deeply intuitive at this time. Work with the element of Water by balancing Svadhisthana (sacral chakra). Wear the colour orange, chant the mantra “VAM”. Practice yoga that taps you into a sense of fluidity. Anja Chakra (third eye) is also very active at this time so go on a Yoga Nidra journey or treat yourself to a Sound Healing session.
Ritual – Harness the element of Water by taking a ritual bath, use bath salts and petals – light candles. When the bath is done, name the things you want to release from your life and visualise them being washed down the drain. If you don’t have a bath, you can do a mini version of this ritual by washing your hands in the sink (still include the salt, petals and candles).
Leo
The Full Moon in fellow fire sign Aries (7th Oct) may inspire travel plans or set you on a new path of study. The New Moon in Libra (21st Oct) will invite you to forge new one-to-one connections that will support you with your social media projects, writing projects or perhaps things that you do around your neighbourhood and local community.
With both Mars (drive and ambition) and Mercury (communication) meeting in fellow Fixed sign Scorpio, you may find yourself locked in an argument or reaching and impasse with someone. Take time to ground yourself and meditate around 20th October so you can take calm and considered action.
Spiritual Practices to Support You
Around the time of the Full Moon it’s a good time to reflect on any studying or teaching you’ve been doing over the last six months. What has been helpful? What needs revising? Work with Kapalabhati (skull shining breath) to invite in clarity and to re-energise you.
Join a local moon circle around the time of the New Moon as your local network will help to support your projects this month.
Ritual – Around the time of the New Moon in Libra, take a walk around your local neighbourhood with someone you really trust. As you walk, talk to them about your plans for the future, then let them tell you yours. After the walk find somewhere to sit down. You write down their intentions. They write down your intentions and you both look after each other intentions. (If you are housebound, you can do this with an online friend).
Virgo
After two New Moons and a Solar Eclipse in your sign, you are probably still catching your breath. Most probably, the Eclipse ushered in a new chapter for you. This month is an important month for lunar rituals as they will give you an opportunity to realign and recalibrate.
The Full Moon in Aries (7th Oct) will put the focus on working to understand yourself on a deeper level. The New Moon in Libra (21st Oct) is a time to set intentions around financial matters, wealth and your overall stability.
With Neptune (planet of imagination) rejoining Saturn in your opposite sign Pisces, you may find yourself going over some old spiritual lesson that were coming up for you last year. This is a great time to review and revise your boundaries.
Spiritual Practices to Support You
This feels like a time to recharge your auric field and fortify your boundaries. Practice yoga with a clear quartz crystal by your mat. This will help to charge the crystal with positive energy from your practice and you can then use the crystal to help you set intentions and align with your highest path.
On the Full Moon practice forward folds such as Baddha Virabhadrasana (humble warrior) and Prasarita Padottanasana C (wide legged forward fold variation C). On the New Moon ground yourself by visualising deep roots that connect you to the core of the earth. These roots form the foundations that will provide you with wealth and stability.
Ritual – Practice with a crystal by your mat and visualise it charging up with good energy. On the New Moon write down everything you want to bring in on a piece of paper and then place the crystal on top the paper. Leave the crystal there for as long as intuitively feels right to you. When the time feels right, gift the good energy crystal to someone else.
