Yoga Nidra
Rest deeper than sleep.
Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation practiced lying down. Unlike seated meditation, there’s no effort required just listening and resting. The practice gently guides you through awareness of breath, body, and sensation, allowing the nervous system to switch from “fight or flight” into deep rest and repair.
At MoreYoga, our Yoga Nidra classes are grounded, accessible, and calming, with no spiritual jargon, no pressure to “do it right.”

What Is Yoga Nidra?
Yoga Nidra (Sanskrit for “yogic sleep”) is a guided relaxation meditation practice that takes you into a profoundly restful state somewhere between wakefulness and sleep.
In a session you lie comfortably on your back (usually in shavasana, or “corpse pose”) with eyes closed while an instructor or recording gently guides you through the practice.
Unlike active yoga or seated meditation, there’s no physical effort or challenging poses required you simply breathe and listen as the guide leads you through a body scan and calming visualizations.
This process helps turn off the body’s “fight or flight” stress response and activates the parasympathetic (rest-and-repair) system, allowing deep relaxation and healing.
The Benefits of Yoga Nidra
&Yoga Nidra is a deeply restorative guided meditation that allows the body to rest while the mind remains gently aware.
Here are the key benefits:
- Supports deep rest and better sleep
It helps calm the nervous system and quiet mental chatter, making it particularly effective for those struggling with sleep issues, burnout, or chronic fatigue. - Reduces stress & anxiety
By guiding the body into deep relaxation, Yoga Nidra helps lower stress hormones and promote emotional balance. Many people report feeling calmer, clearer, and more grounded after just one session. - Rest without physical effort
No movement is required—you simply lie down and listen. This makes the practice accessible to everyone, including those recovering from injury, pregnancy, illness, or emotional exhaustion. - Supports nervous system regulation

It creates space for reflection, intention-setting, and deep inner rest, supporting long-term mental and emotional health.
