Flow To Restore

Half flow, half deep rest – the best of both practices in one class.

The class begins with gentle, mindful movement and gradually slows into deep, supported restorative postures. You arrive busy, move just enough to release the day, then melt into complete rest – the perfect arc for a tired body and a full mind.

Release the day through gentle movement

Transition from doing into resting

Ease tension in the hips, back, and shoulders

Leave genuinely calm and restored

So what exactly is flow to restore?

Flow to restore is a class of two halves. The first half is a slow, mindful vinyasa flow – gentle movement linked with breath that warms the body, mobilises stiff joints, and gives a busy mind something to follow. The second half slows right down into restorative postures, fully supported by bolsters, blocks, and blankets, held long enough for the body to truly let go.

The genius of the format is the order. Most of us can’t go straight from a hectic day into stillness – the mind won’t allow it. Moving first burns off the surface agitation, so that by the time the props come out, rest actually lands.

At MoreYoga, this is one of our most-loved evening classes – the one members describe as “a massage for the nervous system”.

The Benefits You Can Expect

This class solves the problem every busy Londoner has with relaxation: getting there….a few benefits include:

  1. A realistic route into rest
Gentle movement first means you actually can settle when the stillness comes – no lying there with a racing mind.
  2. Two practices in one class
You get the mobility and circulation benefits of flowing movement and the deep nervous-system reset of restorative yoga, in a single hour.
  3. An antidote to the working day
The sequences target exactly what desks create – tight hips, rounded shoulders, a compressed spine – then give them long, supported release.
  4. Better evenings and better sleep
Practised after work, it draws a clean line under the day, and members consistently report deeper sleep on class nights.
  5. Sustainable for every body
The gentle pace and fully supported second half make this one of the most accessible classes on our timetable.
