Happy Aquarius Season Dear Ones,
Aquarius is symbolised by the Water Bearer yet Aquarius is an Air sign – the realm of Aquarius is the thinking and intellectual realm. The Water Bearer symbolises the pouring out of knowledge and information to others and Aquarius is known as a humanitarian sign concerned primarily with the collective evolution over the pursuit of individual accolades.
For the next nineteen years Pluto (planet of transformation) will be in Aquarius making every Aquarius season an opportunity for self-discovery and evolution.
The Sun and Venus meet in Aquarius
This Aquarius Season (20th Jan) starts with a meeting between Venus (beauty and love) and Pluto in Aquarius – this is a great day to embark on a community project that is focused on love as a vehicle for positive change.
Mercury (planet of communication) enters Aquarius on the same day and makes links with the Sun and Pluto. Again, an opportunity to use our voices to call-in change and to be in community. On 23rd Jan we have Mars (planet of drive and ambition) joining the Aquarius gang. Giving the confidence we need to create real meaningful change when we work as part of a group or collective.
On the 26th Jan we have one of the most important astrological happenings of the year – Neptune enters Aries where it will remain until 2038.
Followed shortly after by another era-defining transit – on 14th Feb Saturn (planet of structure boundaries and life lessons) enters Aries. Aries is about leadership, Neptune relates to themes around illusion and imagination. Saturn is about rules and learning lessons. Put this all together and we may find ourselves collectively challenged when we find ourselves in leadership roles or we may seek to challenge our leaders.
1st Feb Full Moon in Leo
The Full Moon in Leo is on 1st Feb and it asks us to shed any blocks that stand in the way of our confidence and joy. This Full Moon is also a catalyst for change because there is tension between the collection of planets in Aquarius and the Moon in Leo.
Mercury and Venus enter Pisces
On 6th Feb Mercury moves into Pisces and on 10th Feb Venus enters Pisces. This makes matters of the heart more emotional and communication a little more muted.
Solar Eclipse in Aquarius
Aquarius season culminates with a New Moon in Aquarius and an Annular Solar Eclipse on 17th Feb. This is not a day for rituals. This is a day for deep meditation and for practices that take us into a deeper state of self-awareness.
Yoga for Aquarius Season
Aquarius corresponds to the Heart Chakra when the Heart Chakras expresses itself as community, friendship and platonic love. The Heart Chakra also links to the element of Air. To work with the Heart Chakra on the mat try backbends such as Camel, Fish Pose and Bow Pose, light green candles, practice an Air Mandala flow, work with the Heart Meridian in Yin Yoga.
The specific flavour of this Aquarius season connects the Solar Plexus Chakra, The Heart Chakra and the Throat Chakra. The Solar Plexus is about change (Pluto), The Heart Chakra is about community (Venus and Aquarius) and the Throat Chakra is about using our voices to express our wishes (Mercury).
Practice in community, join a kirtan and practice Karma yoga.
The signature of this season is creating change through collective efforts. This is a time to be part of a community that is a force for good in the world.
If you know your rising sign read your horoscope for your rising sign too.
Happy Aquarius Season!
