Help Provide Essential Support to Ukrainian Children and Families in Need
Fierce Calm is dedicated to helping people heal from the trauma of war through specialist holistic practices, including yoga, mindfulness, and art therapy. Since 2022, they have been on the ground in Ukraine, supporting displaced women and children, distributing humanitarian aid, and working within the Ukrainian state rehabilitation program for civilian and veteran amputees.
Their program’s success has led to an urgent request from the Ukrainian National Rehabilitation clinical team to provide our services alongside the clinical staff at the UNBROKEN KIDS centre in Lviv. Here, they will offer paediatric holistic therapy, psychosocial support, and physiotherapy under clinical supervision.

Fierce Calm’s Work in the Ukraine:
Since the full-scale invasion in February 2022, Fierce Calm have been working tirelessly to support the Ukrainian people. Initially, they took over a small studio that operated as a shelter and humanitarian aid hub, providing therapy sessions, mindfulness, art therapy, and psychological support to shelter women and children. They also organised free wellbeing retreats for displaced women, frontline healthcare workers, and rehabilitation centre workers in the Carpathian Mountains.
Over the past year, Fierce Calm has been integrated into the state rehabilitation program for amputees, working under the supervision of the state psychological rehabilitation team and surgical staff. Their program, developed with protocols from the Boston Trauma Center at Harvard and the US military PTSD treatment program, has been expanded and adapted to meet the needs of Ukrainian civilians and veterans.

Urgent Appeal
Fierce Calm have recently begun working at the UNBROKEN KIDS Center and St. Nicholas Children’s Hospital in Lviv, at the request of the state healthcare clinical director. The recent missile attack on a partner hospital in Kyiv has overwhelmed the amputee rehabilitation program and paediatric services, and many children have been transferred to their unit for treatment.
This new children’s program exceeds their current financial capacity, and they urgently need funding to deliver these services and maintain our existing programs. All UK staff, including their managing director, work voluntarily, and the program is delivered by Ukrainian staff who are themselves displaced and fully trained by Fierce Calm.
