Lotte Rice
Instructor
Lotte has been practicing yoga for 14 years. She first encountered it as a student at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (drama school) training to be an actor. She started to experience difficulty with concentration and energy levels, which led to a deterioration in mental health. Upon reading a flyer for a yoga studio that listed the health benefits, she began attending classes daily, squeezing her Student Loan’s worth out of the beginner trial. Since then, she has had a regular practice and although the style of yoga has changed over the years, the daily connection with breath and body has remained constant. She completed her teacher training five years ago, in Rishikesh, India, at the Vinyasa Yoga Academy, which focused on the practices of Vinyasa, Ashtanga and Hatha, and has been teaching ever since.‘Sharing this ancient wisdom with my clients and students has enriched my own life immeasurably. Since that first training, I have enhanced my training with a yin yoga teacher qualification (deep, healing, relaxing and restorative yoga that works with meridian theory and our connective tissue), training at the amazing Tri Yoga with Sarah Lo, and Rocket yoga (a fiery, powerful yoga with lots of handstands and inversions), training with David Kyle, the protégé of Larry Shultz himself, and later Marcus Veda and Hannah Whittington (Good Life Yoga School).’
She teaches yoga alongside being a Voice Artist and actor. She has found the two blend beautifully and enjoys treating each class like storytelling, carrying people through the narrative of their sensory bodies.
