Our senior teacher Charlie Kelly will be hosting a week of Bhakti bliss (devotion) and energetic asana (postures). With full mornings and structured late afternoons this retreat will give you all day to play in the sun, scoot to local beaches or just relax by the pool and enjoy the sea view.
The chanting morning sessions will be followed by a deep focus on the 12 main postures, breath control and meditation.
As the sun is setting Charlie will teach a Jivamukti asana class in his classic teaching approach. Also with chanting, pranayama (breath work) and dhyana (meditation).

About Charlie Kelly
Charlie Kelly has been a Jivamukti teacher for 6 years and practicing movement and meditation for 15 years. He brings a healthy dose of yogas ancient philosophy into his modern-day yoga practice and believes these teachings are as relevant now as they were 5000 years ago.
His classes revolve around finding and maintains contentment in our lives today. His asana is dynamic, challenging and moves the spine in all directions to keep it supple and aligned to help more the subtle energies around the body.
Classes can be demanding physically and mentally as he approaches and challenges stereotypes, social norms, and collective thought patterns. With the intentional hands-on Jivamukti assists your body, mind and you be opened up and stretched out after his well-rounded classes.

About the Villa
Located in the heart of Boossa, a small town on the South coast of Sri Lanka, located in the Galle district of the southern province.
The villa is fully staffed with a chef, cleaners, villa manager and security to look after you in this modest but perfect Indian Ocean get away. Vegetarian food is on the menu all prepared by the chef in the kitchen. Continental breakfast, light lunch at the villa or a little packed lunch for your day trip. Big dinner back at the villa all together. On one night there will be group dinner out in the local Galle Fort to enjoy the vibe and local restaurant in this lovely little town, (included in price).
Excursions, car/scooter hire can be arranged for those who are keen at an additional cost.
About Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka’s an island nation around 30km off the southeast coast of India. It has a tropical climate with two monsoon seasons; the northeast monsoon from October to February and the southwest from May to August. The south central region’s mountainous which has a big impact on the weather as well as the Indian Ocean’s warm waters and the huge landmass of the Indian subcontinent. October’s the first month of the northeast monsoon season and you’ll get the most rain in the north east. The south west’s the wettest region in general while the northwest and southeast coasts are usually the driest.

Boossa is a small town on the south coast of Sri Lanka, located in the Galle District of the Southern Province. It is approximately 123 kilometres south of Colombo and 12 kilometres north of Galle, immediately north of the mouth of the Gin Gaga.
Weather in October
The average high in Colombo is 30ºC in October, which drops to 24ºC at night. The sea temperature’s 28ºC, so it’s lovely for swimming, while humidity’s high. You won’t need to bring warm clothes with you although a waterproof top’s a good idea as there can be rainfall. You can expect 12 hours of daylight each day with six hours of sunshine at an extremely high UV level, so don’t forget to use plenty of sun cream. Sunset is around 6pm.
Hikkaduwa is one of the best surfing spots in Sri Lanka, offering a clear hot water base. Scuba diving and diving in clear waters are a major past time along this stretch and is the most ecological way to see the colorful fish that dart around. The coral sanctuary along the coast of Hikkaduwa is a large shallow body of water surrounded by a reef, decorated with layers of multicolored corals, and is home to countless colorful fish.
Koggala Beach is one of the longest beach in Sri Lanka.TThe beach is a nesting area for marine turtles who visit the island during the breeding season.
A lovely place where local fishermen have adopted an almost unique way of fishing, located on the Sri Lanka’s picturesque south coast. As you approach Weligama along the coast road east from Galle will encounter Sri Lanka’s famous stilt fishermen.
The Galle Fort, also known as the Dutch Fort or the “Ramparts of Galle”, is a historical, archaeological and architectural heritage monument. Galle lighthouse, Galle clock tower, Groote Kerk – Galle, All Saints’ Church – Galle, National Museum in Galle, are main archaeological and architectural heritage monuments in Galle fort. The fort has a colorful history, and today has a multi-ethnic and multi-religious population.
Seema Malakaya Meditation Centre
This temple located in the middle of the lake. This temple covered with a short white wall and on this wall numerous statues of Buddha sitting in different poses. On your visit, stop walking and sit down. Enjoy the calm of being on the water. The hustle and bustle of the city, although close, seems to be a lesson. In the afternoon, this place bright with colourful lights.
More known as the Angurukamulla temple in the heart of Negambo town is a palette of colors and a connotation of Buddhist architecture seasoned with colonial influence.
Hidden among its glaring decorations and modern sculptor are the intricate wooden and stone designs of ancient times. Window frames and moon stones created nearly three centuries back.
Traditional Village (Ape Gama)
Ape Gama presents the traditional industries, the village lifestyle and the way Sri Lanka’s autonomous society of old society functions at the time.
In here all houses are built in a circular shape with a garden in the center. This is where the children gathered to play while the village was protected along its periphery by the houses. There are people who live in this “model” village who take care of the daily tasks of visitors to observe. The women walk hastily taking the sweets prepared for sale. Visitors end up with a cup of herbal drinks served in coconut shells. Meanwhile, the drummer makes music and song sitting in the porch of his house.
