Amanda Formisano
Instructor
After starting out on an academic path in the history and anthropology of migration in the Mediterranean, Amanda went on to a professional life as a pastry chef and pilates teacher. Her love of food and movement were embedded from a very young age, with immigrant restaurateur parents who encouraged her to pursue her passion for dancing. A yoga practitioner from the age of 18, it wasn’t until she discovered the deeper meditative aspects of the practise over a decade later that the magic of the practise immersed her. Specifically, the Ashtanga-inspired Rocket system was where the love blossomed – a dynamic vinyasa that is at once strong, playful and meditative. She did her foundational Vinyasa Yoga teacher training with Marcus Veda and Hannah Whittingham in Italy and London in 2019-20 and completed her Rocket training with them soon after. She went on to complete further trainings in Rocket Vinyasa with David Kyle, Mandala Vinyasa with Dulce Mandala and Yin Yoga with Norman Blair, as well as pregnancy training with Clare Francis. Music has always been fundamental to her physical and mental wellbeing and her yoga classes focus on strong and steady flows that help balance the body and still the mind.
