Claire’s love of Yoga began over 15 years ago when she was looking to grow her strength and flexibility as a dancer. She was also keen to balance her life as a Musical Theatre Actress with something that offered her a greater sense of grounding and authenticity. She remembers walking away from her first Yoga class feeling so calm she felt she could tackle anything life threw at her – this was not a feeling she was familiar with!
From then on her love of Yoga has grown until in 2010 she completed her 200 hour Yoga Alliance teacher training qualification with Katy Appleton. She then furthered her training under Paul Grilley, the founder of Yin Yoga, giving her the skills as a Yin Yoga teacher as well as a knowledge of the wonders and complexities of the human anatomy and the way it influences our Yoga practice.
Claire firmly believes Yoga helped her find patience, presence, acceptance, peace and a way to calm her emotions and settle her often demanding mind. Something that started as a way to improve flexibility unexpectedly blossomed into something so much more rewarding and being able to help others discover the magic of Yoga has been and continues to be a wonderful gift.
Claire’s classes celebrate the joy of movement and the empowerment and gratitude gained from discovering your own body and the wonderful things it can (and can’t!) do. At the heart of Claire’s teaching is a warmth, humour and friendliness that enables all levels to feel at home in her class.
Claire’s background in Musical Theatre means her classes are filled with energy, expression and the fluidity and grace of the body, with music always playing a large role.
