2:00pm - 4:00pm (120 min)Mickey M.11 of 20 openEvery single thing our bodies do requires movement; digestion, immunity, reproduction- all of these functions require us to move.
You can eat the perfect diet, sleep 8 hours a night, practice yoga, jog to work but without the loads created by natural movement all of these worthy efforts are thwarted an a cellular level, and your optimal wellness level remains elusive. Its not just about how many hours you spend in the gym or on the mat its how you move off the mat.
Our natural tendency to do as little as possible, to look for the easy way has debilitated us. Modern advancements to make out lives less physically taxing have taxed us physically, and a return to natural movement is the way out.
Often, we come to the mat and practice the same postures, the same way over and over without using different muscles, different balance of loads, and therefore we don’t get the increased benefit of movement. In this workshop, we break the postures down and rebuild them, changing the way we load the weight, rotate, flex, balance, do all the things we do on the mat but with a change of purpose. We will look at different ways to optimise the key postures to increase the load on the muscular and skeleton body, where they are distributed and affect body.
This workshop is suitable for all levels from beginners to experienced. I was practising yoga for nearly 10 years before a teacher showed me a different way to move to load…it changed my practice forever!!! We will have 2 hours to explore this practice, to think differently about how to take our lessons on the mat and apply them to the bigger practice of life off the mat. -
2:00pm - 4:00pm (120 min)Niki P.11 of 22 openIn this 2 hour workshop with Niki, you will develop a greater understanding of how your hips work. We will use dynamic and restorative yin style poses to bring stability and flexibility into the pelvis. These movements don’t just relieve tightness in the hips but will also have an effect on your hamstrings, psoas, glutes and lower back.
By looking at key areas, you will not only find more freedom in your hips but will also bring more balance and vitality into your whole system.

2:00pm - 4:00pm (120 min)Anisha K.35 of 35 openJoin Anisha Kotecha for a Summer Solstice Yin Yoga Workshop to embrace the peak energy of the sun at this time of year, which we will channel to actively manifest action and set our intentions for the second half of 2024.
Summer Solstice is associated with the element of Fire in Traditional Chinese Medicine, representing strength, passion and our inner will power. Fire has its home in the Heart organ. The Heart is coupled with the Small Intestines – both of these organs have their meridians (energy channels) running through the upper body.
During this workshop, we will therefore practise specific yogic asanas (postures) to stimulate the movement of Qi (life energy) through these target upper body meridians. We will focus on opening on the heart and shoulders whilst integrating complimentary mindfulness meditation and pranayama (breathwork) techniques into the practise.
After tapping into the dynamic and invigorating energy of the fire element, we will reflect and journal on our personal intentions and goals for the second half of the year.
This workshop is accessible to all, including beginners. We move at a slow pace, holding the postures with the support of props and options are provided throughout. Bring yourself, an open mind, some comfy clothes, and a notepad / pen for journalling! -
